Rise and Shine: The Morning Routine
My day as a technician at Highlands Quality Climate Control starts bright and early. After a quick breakfast, I check the weather forecast to prepare for the day ahead. Our company specializes in AC repair and HVAC installation, so knowing the conditions is crucial for planning our workload.
First Stop: Emergency AC Repair
Today’s first call is an emergency AC repair for a residential customer. Summer heat can be unforgiving, and a malfunctioning air conditioner is no joke. I arrive at the house, greet the homeowner, and get to work diagnosing the issue. After a thorough inspection, I discover a faulty compressor. Luckily, I have the necessary parts in my truck, and within an hour, cool air is flowing once again.
Midday: HVAC Installation Project
After lunch, I head to a commercial property where we’re installing a new HVAC system. This is a multi-day project, and today we’re focusing on:
- Removing the old system
- Preparing the space for the new installation
- Beginning to install ductwork
It’s physically demanding work, but seeing a project come together is incredibly satisfying.
Afternoon: Routine Maintenance
My last stop of the day is a routine maintenance check for a long-time customer. These preventative visits are essential for:
- Ensuring optimal system performance
- Identifying potential issues before they become major problems
- Extending the lifespan of HVAC equipment
Wrapping Up: Back to Base
As the workday comes to a close, I return to the Highlands Quality Climate Control office. I complete my paperwork, restock my truck with supplies, and touch base with my supervisor about tomorrow’s schedule.
Working for Highlands Quality Climate Control is more than just a job – it’s about ensuring comfort and safety for our community, one HVAC system at a time.
