Rise and Shine: Starting the Day
As a Sigma-Tremblay HVAC technician, my day begins early. I’m up at 6 AM, grabbing a quick breakfast and reviewing my schedule for the day. Today, I’ll be traveling across the Hudson Valley, serving customers in Wappingers Falls, Red Oaks Mill, and Poughkeepsie.
First Stop: AC Installation in Wappingers Falls
By 8 AM, I’m at my first job in Wappingers Falls. A family has decided to upgrade their old air conditioning system, and I’m here to install a new, energy-efficient unit. This process typically takes several hours, involving:
- Removing the old AC unit
- Installing the new system
- Checking for proper refrigerant levels
- Testing the system’s performance
Midday: Air Conditioner Repair in Red Oaks Mill
After completing the installation, I head to Red Oaks Mill for an AC repair job. The homeowner reports that their unit isn’t cooling effectively. Upon inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I patch the leak and recharge the system, restoring its cooling capacity.
Afternoon: Furnace Repair in Poughkeepsie
My final scheduled stop of the day is in Poughkeepsie for a furnace repair. Even though it’s summer, some customers like to address heating issues before the cold weather arrives. I diagnose a faulty ignitor and replace it, ensuring the furnace will be ready for the upcoming winter months.
Emergency Call: AC Repair in Newburgh
Just as I’m wrapping up in Poughkeepsie, I receive an emergency call from a customer in Newburgh. Their air conditioner has completely stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. I quickly drive over and identify a blown capacitor as the culprit. Within an hour, I’ve replaced the part and restored cool comfort to their home.
End of Day: Wrapping Up
As the sun sets, I finish my paperwork and head back to the Sigma-Tremblay office. I review tomorrow’s schedule, restock my truck with necessary parts and tools, and finally head home, satisfied with another day of helping Hudson Valley residents stay comfortable in their homes.
Working for Sigma-Tremblay as an HVAC technician is challenging but rewarding. Every day brings new problems to solve and new people to help, whether I’m in Myers Corner, Spakenkill, or anywhere else in the region. It’s a job that keeps me on my toes and allows me to make a real difference in people’s lives.
